GRAFTON, Mass. — A Central Massachusetts business says they're doing what they can to address the smells coming from their facility.

Feedback Earth in Grafton takes in food waste, and they then dry and process it to create animal feed.

Owner Alison Greenlee said some rancid product has made its way into their system, and they're actively installing new systems and new capacity inside the deodorizing system to try to eliminate all odors the community may be smelling.

She said she understands residents’ frustrations.

"This is our top priority,” said Greenlee. “We have taken the facility offline to put in this new equipment to make sure that this is taken care of as fast as possible. We care very, very much. A tremendous amount of money has been spent to put the system in place. And we know that your patience is limited."

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection said they're aware of the concerns raised by residents and are actively working to ensure air quality in the surrounding communities is not further impacted.
