WORCESTER, Mass. – They say teamwork makes the dream work. Well, this summer, Worcester State University lent a hand to the Doherty football team to help the players and coaches get ready for the seaon and hopefully reach their dream of winning a Super Bowl.

Because of the ongoing construction of the new Doherty High School, the players didn't have a weight room to work out in. Up stepped Worcester State, Athletic Director Mike Mudd and President Barry Maloney who offered the team the use of the Worcester State weight room.

It was huge for the team to help them get stronger as well as build team bonds.

"I think it really helped us a lot," said captain Ben Gniadek. "Because we didn't have a place to lift weights, and it helped bring all our teamates together. A place to hang out this summer and just get stronger and make the team better."

"I'm very thankful for lifting at Worcester State," said captain Carlos Tumer. "I mean, it got us stronger. It got us ready for the new season. It even helped outside because after working out, we would go to the field and build more of a connection."
