PITTSFIELD, Mass. - This week, the Berkshire Humane Society is waving adoption fees for dogs at their shelter who are 1 year and older.
Ellie is a recent addition to the humane society at about 12 years old.
Waving the fees for Ellie and some other adoptable pets is meant to encourage people to give them a closer look. The humane society has around 13 dogs and the number may grow throughout the week. The shelter is hoping some who’ve been here for a while can find their forever homes.
“They’ve collectively been here for over 680 days between just four dogs so were really excited and hoping that these dogs which are really great dogs can find their forever homes,” said Berkshire Humane Society’s executive director, John Perreault.
The dog adopt-a-thon runs through Sunday, Aug. 25. Named “Please Please Please come adopt,” after the Sabrina Carpenter song, it’s also taking place at the Dakin Humane Society and Worcester Animal Rescue League.
