WORCESTER, Mass. - More than 500 people taste tested hot dogs for the 14th annual Worcester Hot Dog Safari Saturday.
They scored dogs at six Worcester County restaurants and food trucks based on five categories; including dog, bun, topping, presentation and value.
Organizer Bryan O'Donnell said it's all about finding the best hot dogs.
"Hot dogs are just fun," he said. "You know they're pretty cheap, pretty tasty, and everyone can do a pretty decent one. But it's really hard to do a great one, and that's what we like to try and find out."
This year's winner was Mama Roux.
An award ceremony was held at Ralph’s Rock Diner in Worcester.
Proceeds from the safari benefit the Worcester County Food Bank.
