WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross football team is full speed ahead in training camp.

For the Crusaders, it's a balance of learning the new systems under new Head Coach Dan Curran while also challenging themselves physically with hitting and competing against one another, and so far, they say, it's going good.

"Yeah, given the amount of new guys we have stepping in to these elevated roles we are way farther ahead than I think a lot of guys anticipated," said captain Christo Kelly. "Everyone's been able to pick up the install offensively really quickly. It's great competing against the defense every day in practice. Iron sharpens iron."

"You know, it's been great," said captain Jordan Fuller. "We've stuck to pretty much the same schedule we had last year. So, I think for the returning guys it's been a lot of continuity in that sense. And people have been just competing, staying healthy [and] being good teammates. We're getting each other better, which is the biggest thing."

Holy Cross opens the season on the road at URI on Aug. 31.
