WORCESTER, Mass. - By now, most people in Central Mass have heard the name Stephen Nedoroscik. But just in case they haven't, the Worcester Public Library is here to help.

A new display at the library's Goddard branch is dedicated to the Olympics and 'the pommel horse guy.'

After leading the USA men's gymnastics team to its first medal in 16 years, Nedoroscik posts and memes practically took over social media. Some users are calling him Clark Kent, while others fell in love with his nonchalant attitude. The library said couldn't wait to celebrate the local hero and they hope this display encourages the younger generation to reach for the stars.

“Encourage reading, encourage engagement. To me, the library is about reading but also about connection and kids seeing themselves in the materials displayed here,” said Chloe Egaña, youth services assistant. “A lot of the books I made sure to include characters of color and people with disabilities and I think it's important for kids to know that everyone can be included."

The display also features books about gymnastics and other famous Olympians. Nedoroscik is leaving Paris with two bronze medals.
