WORCESTER, Mass. — The Shrewsbury Post 397 Legion baseball team beat Hudson 14-3 to win the state championship on Thursday at Fitton Field on the campus of Holy Cross.

Trailing 3-1 heading into the bottom of the third inning, Shrewsbury exploded for seven runs, with Gabe Terlato driving in two with a single.

Then Post 397 struck for six more runs in the fourth inning with Liam Collins driving in two with a double.

Connor Herlihy was awesome on the mound, going five innings allowing only three hits and three runs. 

Jimmy Mitchell was named the tournament MVP, going 3-4 with an RBI. 

Shrewsbury now heads to the regional tournament in Manchester, New Hampshire, which starts next Wednesday.
