WHITINSVILLE, Mass. - A local state senator is working to make sure employees impacted by Blupoint Healthcare's recent allegations of misconduct will receive the payments they missed.

A Suffolk Superior Court ruled three Blupoint facilities, including Pioneer Valley Health and Rehabilitation in South Hadley and Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Whitinsville, be placed under receivership.

It comes after dozens of staff members had already resigned after they say they were not paid for weeks.

State Sen. Ryan Fattman said while the receivership is good for patients in the facilities, it's not any different for current and former employees until they receive the money they deserve.

"There's still action that needs to be taken” said Fattman. “And those employees who worked really hard to support this facility and take care of other people’s loved ones, residents and patients, they deserve to get what's rightfully theirs, their paycheck. And until that happens I’m not going to stop fighting and pointing out to the attorney general that they need to check themselves here and do something about it."

In a statement Monday, the attorney general said receivership will help stabilize the situation by taking control of finances and supporting daily operations, while protecting the welfare of residents and staff.

A hearing will take place in Suffolk Superior on Thursday about the receivership.
