WORCESTER, Mass. – The Jesse Burkett 11-12-year-old Little League Softball All-Stars won the state championship and are headed to the regionals in Bristol, Conn.

The Burkett All-Stars have rolled in the post season. They are 10-0, and have outscored their opponents 110-11.

For some of the players, it's the second year in a row going to the regionals, where they stay together in dorms and have fun.

"How excited I am to go to Bristol and be at the regionals is that we all get to be there together," said pitcher/second baseman Madysen Smith. "We get to play as a team. We get to hang out together. We get to pin trade and do all that fun stuff."

"I'm so excited to go to Bristol because it's a fun experience," said shortstop/pitcher Sophia Delvalle. "Hanging out with your team all together and meeting new teams."

"It's like a big sleepover," said third baseman Sophia D'Andrea. "It's so fun. We all hang out. We play a lot of games. Sometimes, we watch movies."

"I'm looking forward to staying with everyone in the same dorm," said first baseman Jocelyn Baumann.

Burkett's first game is 4 p.m. Sunday against Vermont.
