RUTLAND, Mass. — Maintaining a decades-long tradition, the Town of Rutland pulled out all the stops to celebrate the Fourth of July in its annual parade and this year was no different.
The parade started in 1948 and celebrated its 76th anniversary this year.
It's the culmination of a days-long celebration in town which featured fireworks and the Strawberry Festival.
Hundreds set up along Main Street to watch the parade.
Paula and Brian Stidsen served as the grand marshals.
Parade organizers say they embody the spirit of Rutland with their tireless service, from running the food pantry to sponsoring baseball teams.
The parade's theme this year was "Rutland Celebrates a Happily Ever After."
