WORCESTER, Mass. – A familiar face is taking over a leadership role for the Worcester Railers.
Kim Golinski served as the president of Wormtown Brewery. She'll take over as president of the hockey club on Aug. 1.
Current president Stephanie Ramey will step down to become the vice president of special projects for Rucker Investments.
Golinski said her 20 years of experience in the craft beer industry has equipped her with skills and relationships that she'll be able to transfer to the team.
"Getting to stay in Worcester is really important. I didn't feel like my job in Worcester was done as a partner in the community,” said Golinkski. “The Railers have a really great community program, so I’m excited to step into that as well. So being a fan, working in Worcester and being in beer, beer and hockey kind of go together anyways. So naturally I was drawn to the Railers."
Golinski also played a pivotal role in the rapid growth of Tree House Brewing Company, leading the Monson, Charlton, Deerfield, Woodstock and Sandwich expansions.
The news also comes one month after the team announced they're parting ways with head coach and General Manager Jordan Lavallee-Smotherman.
