WORCESTER, Mass. — Downtown Worcester is in bloom, as the city's Business Improvement District installs flower planters and hanging baskets throughout the area.
Worcester BID also gave away 500 free potted flowers Tuesday as part of their effort.
The nonprofit says they're committed to enhancing downtown through various beautification initiatives, like the floral displays.
This is the first year they did the flower giveaway.
"So the goal of doing the giveaway is really to bring people's attention to the flowers that are in downtown Worcester” said marketing director Lisa Malo. “Of course to bring people downtown and to bring people out of their offices and apartment buildings that are downtown just to come celebrate with us."
The flower giveaway was done in partnership with their flower program partner, Bemis Farms Nursery in Spencer.
