WORCESTER Mass. - At Project New Hope in Worcester, Memorial Day means honoring and remembering the ultimate sacrifice made my men and women in the military. Project New Hope been has supporting local veterans for 14 years by connecting them to services, offering retreats and running a food pantry.

Project New Hope executive director and president Bill Moore is a disabled veteran himself and said Memorial Day is very special to him and he hopes to see people across the country paying tribute to our American heroes.

"When they're out there enjoying their cookouts and families get togethers, to pause and be present in the moment and just remember and honor our fallen men and women warriors that served the great united states of America all over the world,” Moore said. “We still have a lot of troops being deployed to this day, so just take a moment of silence and just remember those men and women serving their country and those that have lost their lives. They made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and that’s what I hope they would take away."

Moore served in the Air Force for 4 years as a crash-rescue firefighter.
