NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - The Uxbridge baseball team beat Northbridge 6-2 on Monday in the battle of the bridges.
The game was scoreless after two innings, with both starting pitchers doing well and hitting their spots, Charlie Criscola for Uxbridge and Joe McKeown for Northbridge. Then in the third inning, both teams broke through for two runs.
It stayed tied at two until the sixth inning when "The U" broke through for one run and then got two more in the seventh.
Northbridge loaded the bases with one out in the sixth, but Criscola got a strikeout and then made a fielding play himself to get out of the inning unscathed.
Grady Walsh had two hits and a run batted in for Uxbridge. Uxbridge is 13-2 and Northbridge is 13-3.
