WORCESTER, Mass. — The high school softball regular season wraps up soon, and then it's onto the MIAA state playoffs for all the teams that qualify.
The St. Paul softball team will be a high seed in Division 1. The Knights have had a good season and the girls want to keep that momentum going.
"The next two weeks I just think we need to keep our energy level up," said pitcher Bella Mara. "And be confident at the plate and just keep swinging, act like Coach Lee's on the mound, because in practice we smoke the ball. And just think playing as a team and being there for each other, and it's going to help us get far."
"There's only a couple more weeks left in the season, we really have to pick each other up, and keep working as a team,” said shortstop Emma Nordahl. "The energy has to stay high and we can't get low at all, especially when someone makes a bad play we have to pick them up."
"We've been really good about picking each other up,” said second baseman Izzy Tortora. "When we've been in a hitting slump, we've all been there for each other. We have to keep this momentum going, not get cocky but have a lot of confidence."
