WORCESTER, Mass — May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and a new survey from CVS Health shows mental health concerns are rising.
Ashley Karpinski, the executive director of enterprise collaboration and care delivery at CVS Health, said 65% of adults surveyed reported they have experienced concerns about their own mental health or the mental health of their friends and family.
This is up 6% from 2022 and 15% from 2020.
Karpinski said the survey also showed that social media impacts mental health. Nearly 37% of adults believe social media has hurt society.
Karpinski added that if anyone is struggling with their mental health, they should get help. She said that talking to a health care provider is a great first step.
