WORCESTER, Mass. - The Massachusetts Green-Rainbow party hosted their state convention in Worcester this weekend. The theme this year was "Electing peace and justice: Escaping the two party trap of war and Wall Street."

The party says they have ten key values on understanding the interconnectedness of people, planet, and peace. Saturday, they elected their state party officers.

The Green-Rainbow Party says they also want to support people in ways the two major parties don't. A 2023 report from consulting company Gallup showed support for a third U.S. political party was up to 63%, saying both republicans and democrats were doing a poor job.

"Going forward, I think the Green-Rainbow Party is kind of uniquely positioned to help the people who are marginalized and oppressed, the people who don't get a lot of attention from the Democrats and the Republicans, because there is not a lot of profit to be made," said Mike Pascucci, the party's co-chair. "But they still need that assistance, and that's really, if I could boil down what the Green-Rainbow party is all about, is really helping the oppressed and the marginalized and really addressing their needs."

Saturday's convention also featured a number of keynote speakers, discussing how to prevent nuclear war and fighting the climate crisis.
