PAXTON, Mass — The Anna Maria College baseball team is in the playoffs. The AmCats are in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) postseason tournament, which is their ticket to qualifying for the NCAA championship.

The GNAC tournament is a double-elimination tournament. Anna Maria is ready for the test.

"Keys to winning in the playoffs here is just playing clean defense, pitchers just throwing strikes," said captain Kosta Drosidis. "Going right at hitters, and then from an offensive standpoint, just have a competitive at-bat. Generate as many base runners as we can. And just stay up. Don't get too high when things are going great, and don't get too low when things are going not so great."

"Playoff baseball and regular season baseball are completely different things," said captain Jarrod Marifiote. "Everything we've done this year from the first practice until now has done little jobs to prepare us for this playoff spot."

"Keys to winning in the playoffs are just being in the moment and realizing that just because it's a playoff game or an elmination game, it's another game," said captain Tommy Sasso. "It's another day at the ballpark. There's no need to put any added pressure or weight on the playoff game. Just go out there and compete."
