WORCESTER, Mass. – Former Holy Cross wide receiver Jalen Coker rewrote the record books in his time with the Crusaders. Every coach in the Patriot League knew how good he was and the impact he could have on a game.
Now, NFL teams are seeing those same skills up close, as Coker took part in two bowl games with some of the best players in the nation and stood out, practicing in front of NFL personnel every day.
He interviewed with teams, as well. Then Coker went to the NFL combine and did great again.
On Thursday, Coker took part in the Holy Cross Pro Day. He just took part in the bench, doing 12 reps of 225 pounds, which was the number he wanted to hit.
Coker shared his thoughts on the bowl games, the combine and the entire process leading up to the NFL draft, which is April 25-27.
"It's been huge, an amazing opportunity, especially to do it with one of my really good friends (C.J. Hanson, Holy Cross guard) and teamates," Coker said. "That's all I can really ask for coming from a smaller school, to be considered one of the best receivers to ever do it at the college level.\ I went to the combine, did the all-star games, proved myself. So it's just amazing."
When asked what feedback he received from NFL teams, Coker said, "Everything's been really positive. Teams liking me. So I hope I hear my name called (at the draft)."
