WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross football head coach Dan Curran was hired less than a week before the first signing day for high school players.

It's been a whirlwind for the new head man for the Crusaders program. He just finished securing his second group of recruits with the second signing day and finished filling out his coaching staff.  Curran is excited about the players they have coming in.

"Really excited about this recruiting class," Curran said. "We were able to address a bunch of positional needs which is important, both in the early signing period and the one we just had. And probably more importantly, we were able to add a bunch of kids that are not only talented student athletes, but individuals which really fit our culture and our program, which I think is a really important piece to continue the sustained success our program has had."

Curran filled out his coaching staff with some guys that were a part of former head coach Bob Chesney's staff, as well as other coaches he has worked with or known.

"Feel really good about the coaching staff we were able to assemble," Curran said. "It's a good blend, we were able to retain some key guys in coach Gunnell, coach Vaganek, coach Grautski and coach Vulcano."

Holy Cross will begin spring practices in March.
