WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester police are investigating a deadly shooting of a 17-year-old boy.
Police say officers responded to the area of Shannon Street around 3:15 a.m. Monday for a shotspotter activation. They found evidence shots were fired, but didn't locate a victim until they searched local hospitals where they learned the teen was pronounced dead.
“Detectives did respond to the crime scene, processed the scene; obviously they’re checking for video, speaking to witnesses,” said Worcester Police Lt. Sean Murtha. “So, it’s a very active investigation right now.”
