Dudley Selectman John Marsi won the Republican primary Tuesday in the special election for the 6th Worcester District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
The seat was left vacant after Peter Durant was elected to the state Senate last fall.
The primary was a two-person race, with Marsi defeating Dave Adams, who serves on the Southbridge Town Council. Marsi received support from Durant and Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis.
There is no Democrat running for the seat, so Marsi will be unopposed in the general election on March 5.
