Judge Gabrielle Wolohojian has served on the appeals court since 2008 and is now nominated for the Supreme Judicial Court. Healey faced many questions about the appropriateness of the nomination, especially since the two were together for over a decade and lived together for years.

“There is no one more qualified," Healey said. "I am very comfortable in saying that. I don't want the fact that she had a personal relationship with me to deprive the Commonwealth of someone qualified for the position.”

Healey believes that her Supreme Judicial Court nomination will be passed.

Meanwhile, the governor's budget proposal will head to the Massachusetts House where it will endure a lengthy debate. After the administration made spending cuts in January, Healey said they are paying close attention to revenues.

“Ultimately, I think that everyone involved, our administration secretary, work with the House, the Senate leadership," she said. "You know, everyone's mindful of what's happening and in monitoring and looking at revenues and looking at what we need to do and if there are adjustments that we need to make.

“It's a collaborative process. I'm committed to making sure that we are fiscally responsible and balanced as we move forward in these times, and also we’ve got to wait to see what happens in terms of revenues come April.”
