WORCESTER, Mass. – Employees at Saint Vincent Hospital were recognized Tuesday as part of the hospital’s “Better Together” recognition event.
It's a new monthly program, which the hospital says highlights stories of collaboration in the care they deliver and acts of service which go above and beyond to benefit co-workers, the organization and the community.
"You are all being recognized today for demonstrating the translation of our core values into the kinds of behaviors that support our mission to provide quality, compassionate care to all members of the central Massachusetts community," said Saint Vincent CEO Carolyn Jackson at Tuesday’s event.
Ten employees were recognized Tuesday. They can be nominated by colleagues, patients and patients’ families.
The event came as nurses at Saint Vincent have filed hundreds of complaints with state and federal agencies, citing dangerous conditions they say jeopardize the safety of hospital patients.
The hospital did not have a comment as of Tuesday afternoon. The Massachusetts Nurses Association will hold a press conference about the complaints Wednesday morning.
