WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester Railers have a big weekend coming up at the DCU Center - a three-in-three weekend - with all three games against divisional opponents.
Friday night will have an event to say farewell to former Worcester Red Sox player Ryan Fitzgerald, who is leaving the team this year. He'll be on hand to drop the puck and sign autographs. Saturday night will also be Star Wars night, with characters walking around and prizes given out.
On the ice, the players know how big these divisional games are.
"It's a huge weekend versus divisional opponents," said forward Jack Quinlivan. "I think the keys are to not beat ourselves and clean up our mistakes and play with physicality and tempo. This is a team that wants to play in our end, doesn't play around with it. It's how quickly can we break out with it and play in their end and hold onto the puck."
"It's a big weekend in division games, play Norfolk twice and Three Rivers here," said forward Brendan Robbins. "So those are all vauable points, six points on the line. I think keys for us, all year we've have slow starts, so getting off to a fast start. And then it's keeping it simple, putting pucks in deep."
Friday and Saturday's games start at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday's puck drop is at 3:05 p.m.
