WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester native and Worcester Academy boy's basketball star Kayvaun Mulready is a leader for the Hilltoppers on and off the court.

The school and the city are something Mulready takes a lot of pride in representing.

"I take a lot of pride in representing Worcester and Worcester Academy," said Mulready, "First the city, a lot of people look up to me, not just kids, but even adults I've been told. And Worcester Academy as a school, I wear that name on my chest every single day, and I make sure the school has a great representation."

Mulready, who is going to Georgetown University next year, has the respect and admiration of teamates and coaches.

"I'm his roomate, so I know him as a person a lot, and as a player," said guard Jake Blackburn. "He's a great leader. He's showed a lot of us what we need to work on. And as a player, obviously, you've seen what he can do on the court. So it's undeniable how great of a person and a player he is."

Mulready is brightening up the Worcester Academy campus one smile at time, and they're better off for it.
