WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester Public Schools are closed for the day Monday, and several other districts across Central and Western Massachusetts are operating with a two-hour delay as cities and towns continue clean up from the snow.

Low visibility, whipping winds and falling snow didn't stop people from getting out and enjoying their day during the Sunday storm. Families gathered at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester to take advantage of the big hill outside the school.

Communities are reminding people to shovel sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses or they could face a fine. In Worcester, people could be fined $75 a day if they fail to clear a 4-foot wide path on sidewalks within 10 hours after the snow stops.

Fines are $50 in Chicopee for not removing snow on sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of the storm. And residents in Pittsfield could also face a fine for not clearing snow on the sidewalk 24 hours later.
