WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross football team has a bye this week, and it comes at the midway point of the season — which is perfect for the team.

They have been going hard for the last two and half months, so this is a chance for the team to get a break physically and mentally, as well for the team to reset and focus on some things they want to improve on.

"I'd say the bye week helps us re-lock in to our ultimate goal winning the Patriot League first and going onto win a national championship," said DT Jared Dyer. "I think the bye week allows a lot of the guys who have been getting high reps to get healthy. A lot of younger guys to show that they can step up."

"We all need this bye week," said DE Christian Ross. "We've just been going at it for how many weeks now, it's just a benefit on all of our bodies. Everybody's a little banged up so we're just using this as momentum going into Lafayette."

Holy Cross is back in action a week from this Saturday on Oct. 21 at home against Lafayette at 1 p.m.
