Isabel and Bernie Fallon own Loeb’s Foodtown in Lenox. They said the family’s visit was much like any other customers coming in.
“They came and I didn’t know who it was," Isabel Fallon said. "And then when they came to the desk and I said, 'I know these people.' So, I ask him, and he says, 'Yes, I am John Legend.' Right! And that’s it. I didn’t ask so much because I wanted them to feel free to shop in the store.”
The Lenox grocery store owners said celebrity sightings aren’t uncommon with all the events and destinations Berkshire County offers, especially in the summer.
“You know what's funny is I lived on Hollywood Boulevard for three months," Bernie Fallon said. "And when I got back to my home in West Stockbridge, people said, 'Did you see any celebrities?' And I said, 'You see more celebrities here.'
"And we're blessed to live here because, you know, we can talk about other interests like sports and things like that rather than what they're working on. So, that's why we want them to feel comfortable in here. And, you know, like shoppers unbothered, unaffected.”
