MARLBOROUGH, Mass — One of the largest Labor Day parades in the country is sticking to tradition this year, marking the 71st Labor Day Parade in Marlborough.

With their balloons, snow cones and popcorn, families watched a loaded line up travel around the city. There were local and state leaders, high school sports teams and marching bands and, of course, several decorated floats and the Shriners. It was a sunny and warm day for a parade.

Some families said they've been coming for more than 60 years.

"The whole family used to come up and we'd make a whole day of it. I've marched in multiple, multiple parades. So I'm here today with my sister in law and nieces and nephews and we are going to watch it once again," Judy Dascoli said.

The parade route was a little different this year. Instead of going past the walker building and city hall, It went up Granger Boulevard because of ongoing construction.
