SPENCER, Mass. – An end of summer tradition which is now mare than 130 years old, the Spencer Fair is back for another year.

The fair opened Thursday night and visitors enjoyed great weather on the fair’s first full day Friday. The long weekend of events includes exhibits, animals, a demolition derby, carnival rides and, of course, a lot of food.

There’s also live music and, new this year, they’ll have a Frank Sinatra tribute group performing Saturday evening.

Organizers say the fair is something people look forward to every year.

"It’s incredible, people talk about it all year,” said Robert Knight, president of the Spencer Agricultural Association. “You get the people that, that's why they come, to see their friends they haven't seen all year. They remember it from being a kid. I started showing cows here in ‘74 and still here today.”

"I love this fair, this fair is amazing,” said Barbara Zisk, who was visiting from Winchendon. “This fair offers so much great food, we have the tractor pulls, you've got the demolition derby, you've got the rides, the carnival rides for the kids. It's amazing, this is a great family-oriented event."

This year’s fair runs through Monday, Sept. 4.
