WORCESTER, Mass. - The Jesse Burkett 11-12 year-old Little League softball all-stars won the state championship, and now they are on to the regionals in Bristol, Connecticut.

The girls will stay together in dorms at the little League complex and eat together in the cafeteria. It's an experience they are all looking forward to.

"I'm really excited, it's definitely a team bonding experience," said catcher Julia Grant. "We all worked very hard to get here and it's just amazing."

"The excitement is really cool because this is our first time going," said pitcher Mia Porcelli. "It's really exciting for us."

"I'm super excited to go to Bristol and be with the girls every day," said SS Bell McLaughlin. "And to stay together all the time and eat and sleep with everybody too."

"Most of the excitement is we get to just hang out with each other all the time," said 2B Madysen Smith. "We're going to have so much fun in the dorms. I feel like it's going to be a fun experience."

The Regionals are a double elimination format. Burkett's first game is Sunday at 8 p.m. vs. Rhode Island.
