WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester Railers announced Wednesday they have hired Bob Deraney as a new assistant coach. 

Deraney was the head coach of the Worcester State University men's hockey team last season and led the Lanacers to the MASCAC Championship game. Deraney was also named MASCAC Coach of the Year. 

Deraney has been a volunteer assistant coach with the Railers since the 2019-2020 season. He was previously the head coach of the Providence College women's team for 19 years and played college hockey at Boston University.
