It was a special night at Thursday’s Worcester School Committee meeting, as 102-year-old Worcester resident Antoinette "Ginger" Rinaldi received an honorary high school diploma.

Rinaldi was born in 1921 and grew up on Shrewsbury Street, where she still lives today. She became a nanny at the age of 12, and at just 14, she became one of the first women to work at the American Steel and Wire Company.

Rinaldi also spent time working in the cafeteria at both Forest Grove and Doherty High schools and she helped in developing the food distribution for the Head Start program.

This was not the first time Rinaldi was honored by Worcester, as she was previously awarded a key to the city.
