Local colleges and universities have made changes in their COVID-19 protocols and policies following the end of the state and federal public health emergencies.

Several schools, including Clark, Holy Cross and WPI, made the decision to no longer require COVID-19 vaccines for students or employees, but are still recommending following CDC guidelines.

Anna Maria College in Paxton still requires the primary shot or series and then strongly recommends boosters. Worcester State University has not yet made a decision for the fall semester.

UMass Chan Medical School has suspended its vaccine requirement for most faculty, students and staff, but said those who work in clinical settings must remain up to date on vaccinations and follow masking guidance at each site.
