UXBRIDGE, Mass. - A third party review looking into a series of resignations from the Uxbridge School Committee will be lead by former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis.
The resignation of all but one school committee member over the past few weeks follows a pattern of employees and committee members leaving their posts in recent years, and Superintendent Michael Baldassarre said he picked Davis because of his credibility and years of experience.
“What I see in Mr. Davis is the highest level of credibility, the highest level of preparedness to do this work, unquestionable and unflappable experience in being able to be transparent and tell the story," Baldassarre said.
Davis runs a security consulting and crisis management firm, which he launched after a 35-year career in law enforcement. Many know him from his time overseeing the Boston Police Department's response to the 2013 marathon bombing.
In total, 13 Uxbridge School Committee members have resigned over the course of the past 22 months. Baldassarre said he’s eager to find out why it’s happening and how the district can get back on the right track.
