The Easthampton School Committee announced four external candidates for the interim superintendent job at its meeting Monday night.
The committee shared the names of the four applicants: Marlene Dileo, Mary Jane Rickson, Roland Joyal and former Worcester Public Schools superintendent and current interim superintendent at Quaboag Public Schools Maureen Binenda. Applicants for the position have until May 16 to apply.
The committee decided to search for an interim superintendent after a tumultuous search process for a permanent candidate. Finalist Erica Faginski-Stark withdrew her name from consideration after the school committee voted to offer her the job. That took place after the school committee rescinded their job offer to another finalist, Vito Perrone, apparently due to the wording of an email.
Later this week, the school committee, along with the city council, will also begin the process of filling two vacant seats on the committee after two members resigned in recent weeks. Applicants have until May 15 to apply for the openings.
The school committee and city council are set to give more information on the process at a meeting Wednesday night.
