HUDSON, Mass. – School bus drivers in Marlborough were on the picket line Monday morning in Hudson amid contract negotiations with the NRT Bus company.

Teamsters Local 170 represents bus drivers in Framingham, Marlborough and Westborough. Drivers in Framingham reached an agreement with NRT Sunday night, but drivers in Westborough and Marlborough are still in open negotiations.

Marlborough drivers went on strike Monday morning, while Westborough drivers are still working their routes.

Union business agent Jim Marks said the contract with Marlborough drivers is close, but the one for Westborough is not, and those drivers could still strike at any time.

“I can pull them out at any time,” Marks said. “We've got a lot. We still haven't really negotiated, we have to get the contract done, all the language stuff, but we still have economics to deal with over there."

Westborough superintendent Amber Bock, notified parents Sunday night that drivers in town would not be going on strike Monday, saying contract negotiations will continue and she was relieved for the town's drivers and families.
