WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester Public Library was a bit noisier than usual on Saturday as dozens of people stopped by to play some mini golf.

This was the second year for the annual Tee Off For WPL fundraiser, where hallways, space between bookshelves and study rooms are transformed into an 18-hole mini golf course.

All of the money raised benefits the Worcester Public Library Foundation to help keep its important services and programs running strong.

WPL Foundation Executive Director Christine Murray said it was a big success.

“We had such support from the community for this event, it’s just fantastic," Murray said. "Last night, we had a 21+ adults-only fundraiser, we had live music, wine trucks, Redemption Rock Brewery and the Worcester Regional Food Hub, which provided fantastic food from some of our newer restaurant entrepreneurs.”

Local businesses got involved by sponsoring a hole and decorating it themselves.

The Worcester Public Library Foundation was created in 2003 to give the library more visibility in the community.
