WORCESTER, Mass. - In honor of May Day and International Workers' Day, the Worcester Community Labor Coalition held a “Listen to the Workers” rally outside Worcester City Hall Monday afternoon.

Fred Taylor, business representative for the Carpenters Union Local 336, said they chose to rally at city hall because it's where a lot of the policies are set which impact workers. He said the goal is to have workers express support and solidarity for one another.

"No matter how great or how good the conditions are, they can always be improved,” Taylor said. “For us, that's exactly what we're trying to do. Get more improvements for the work force, give people a good job, good living and a good retirement. That's what we fight for."

The Worcester Community Labor Coalition formed in 2012 as an effort to secure a place for community participation in economic development decisions taking place in the city.
