WORCESTER, Mass. - Four Holy Cross football players took part in a pro day at the school Thursday in front of NFL and CFL scouts.
LB Liam Anderson, CB John Smith, RB Peter Oliver and K Derek Ng all did drills, benched 225 pounds as many times as they could and were measured and timed in the 40 yard dash, vertical jump and broad jump.
Anderson drew ooohs and ahhs from the crowd as he hit 10'8" on the broad jump, and Smith was pumped he ran a 4.5 second 40. All in all, the players were pleased with how the day went as they try and catch the eye of an NFL team.
"I thought it went well, it's a great experience," said Anderson. "Everyone goes through their college career not knowing if they're going to have a pro day. Super blessed to be here and for the opportunity, really happy with how the day went."
"I think it went well, had a lot of other guys out here," said Smith. "I think it's just a special day for Holy Cross having NFL scouts here."
"I remember coming in years past, so I had a general idea of the what the vibe was going to be like," Oliver said.
The NFL draft starts April 27 and runs for three days.
