WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University men's basketball team gathered Monday afternoon to watch the NCAA selection show to find out who they would play and where.
The Lancers qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1994. Worcester State will play at Middlebury on Friday at 3:40 p.m. in the first round of the big dance.
Worceste State got big games from three local players in the MASCAC Championshilp game on Sunday, beating Westfield State 65-53 to capture the title. Sam Dion had 11 points, Aaron Nkrumah had 15 points and 8 rebounds, while tournament MVP Erik Bjorn had 24 rebounds and 5 points.
