PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Pittsfield’s 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival is back, encouraging everyone to get out and have some fun this winter. The city said in the event’s 12th year, the collaboration of local organizations is still growing.

This year, Downtown Pittsfield Inc. is kicking off their first restaurant week during the 10-day festival. Participating restaurants have "passports" available for customers, and collecting stamps at the businesses means earning chances to win a prize package of restaurant gift cards. Pittsfield’s new Hot Plate Brewing Co. will be hosting events for all ten days.

Traditions like Barrington Stage Company’s 10x10 new play festival and celebrating the artists of the Lichtenstein Center have returned. The Berkshire Museum will also have family-friendly days of play and ice sculptures outside – weather permitting.

Pittsfield's director of cultural development Jen Glockner said there’s something for everyone during the 10x10.

“It's the best collaboration you can ever imagine," Glockner said. "The city of Pittsfield, Barrington Stage Company and then many, many cultural organizations throughout Pittsfield come together to put on dozens of events. Over the course of these ten days, there truly is something for everyone. It's a combination of art, performance, music, outdoor recreation, eating, drinking and being merry; it really is.”

On the final night of the 10x10, the city will launch ten minutes of fireworks from The Common. It’ll be a slight change this year as they’ll ask those in attendance to watch from the First Street parking lot.
