WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester Red Sox announced Thursday several new improvements fans can expect to see at Polar Park this season.
The list of improvements includes new seating, heating and eating options. Changes will also include new ticket booths and five blue "woo shuttles," providing free transportation to and from the park from city lots and parking areas in the downtown.
"Part of what we get to do is see how our fan behavior moderates our thinking” said ballpark designer, Janet Marie Smith. “When we see so many people hanging out on the berm, it makes us desire to have more spots in that location. When we see how many people have enjoyed the game from Craft Corner or Summit Street, it motivates us to want to put drink rails and bar stools out there. Much of it is just the psychology of architecture, looking at how people use the space."
The WooSox season home opener is Friday, March 31 against the Syracuse Mets.
