WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's basketball team is 8-0 in league play. The Crusaders know that the Patriot League title is their ticket to the NCAA tournament, so they know how important every league game is, and just how intense they are as well.

"I think one of the great things about this team is we're competitive with each other every day at practice," said junior guard Bronagh Power-Cassidy. "So we bring that to every game but especially in league games. They're teams we've played before, we're used to these players, and every team is up for it, every game is competitive. You gotta go in guns a-blazing from the get go."

"In this league this year, every team is capable of beating anybody on any given day," added senior guard Addisyn Cross. "I think this is a really strong league this year, so I think we're up for every game it doesn't matter who we're playing. We go in with the same mindset, the scout, and everything like that. I think we're ready to step up on any given day."

"Yeah I think you play a really tough non-conference schedule to prepare you for the league," said Head Coach Maureen Magarity. "And as we remember from last year, anything can happen in league play, and we just have to do a really good job of playing well at home, and winning the games at home."

Holy Cross is on the road on Wednesday at Lehigh and then this Saturday they are home against Army. It will be a special day as they are retiring the jerseys of five of the all time greatest players in program history - Kathy Courtney, Janet Hourihan Brooks, Sherry Levin, Lauren Maney George and Amy O'Brien Davagian.

There will be a speaking program in the Blaney practice courts at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, which is open to anyone who has a game ticket, and then a ceremony at halftime to retire the jerseys. Game time on Saturday is 2 p.m.
