The Algonquin girls and boys basketball teams both picked up wins over Shrewsbury Tuesday night.

The girls team beat Shrewsbury 41-39 on the road. Shrewsbury's Amanda Kalinowski poured in a game high 23 points, while Ashlee Dameri led Algonquin with 15 points.  Algonquin is 5-4 on the season while Shrewsbury is 2-8. 

Meanwhile, the boys team defeated Shrewsbury 63-57 at home. Algonquin had four players hit for double figures, with Andrew Eiben leading the way with 14 points. Shrewsbury was led by Jason Nickerson and Jake Pettepit who each had 16 points. Agonquin improves to 5-4 on the season while Shrewsbury is 2-6.
