BROOKFIELD, Mass. - With helicopters in the air and K9s on the ground, the search for Brittany Tee expanded Tuesday.
“It’s a search, not a crime scene," said Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. "Everyone we’re talking to has been cooperative. It’s not a crime scene.”
Tee was last seen January 10 in the area of Lewis Field on Main Street. The 35-year-old is 5 foot 6 inches and is said to have been wearing a black winter coat, a hoodie, jeans and work boots.
Local and state police spent part of the afternoon at the residence Tee was last seen. Early said there is nothing to suggest Tee was kidnapped.
“We do believe she is in the area," Early said. "There are multiple possibilities, that’s why we’re asking for help.”
Early said Tee’s boyfriend has also been helping authorities and they’ve actually received a lot of help from the public.
“They’ve helped us, so far as pointing us in what we believe is in the right direction," Early said. "These things, they never have a timeline. They work themselves out slowly. It does allow us to move more quickly when we can eliminate different things.”
Brookfield Police Chief Blanchard is also asking people with information to come forward.
“I continue to encourage people to call in tips as they have them, no matter how big or small they think they may be," Blanchard said Tuesday. "I also understand that the longer this goes on, the more frustration and anxiety builds amongst people. But I want to remind everyone to remain positive, keep Brittany and her family in your thoughts and prayers.”
Monday, Early announced the search radius for Tee had expanded from two to three miles. If necessary, they'll expand it again.
Anyone with information is asked to call the tip line at (508) 453-7589.
