WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark University graphic design professor Sherry Freyermuth is getting her designs on Bounty paper towels.
This is the first time Freyermuth has sold her art to a major company. She entered Bounty's paper towel design contest on a whim, submitting two designs right before the deadline.
She ended up finishing in the top eight, cashing in on a $5,000 prize, free art courses and the chance to have her art showcased on store shelves around the country.
"This was sort of like the beginning of my journey and seeing it finish, I just felt like oh I've come so far," Freyermuth said. "I was on vacation and I was like 'oh my gosh, I made it into the top eight,' which means I got to be on the paper towels. I didn't expect that because there was over 300 submissions and you know, you never really know what's going to happen."
Freyermuth ordered the paper towels with her design online, but ended up finding them locally at a Family Dollar store.
