SHREWSBURY, Mass. - The Shrewsbury Public Library has opened a new used bookstore on the lower level of the library.

The space was previously used for storage and now it holds gently used books up for grabs. Adult hardcovers are just $2, while paperbacks, children's books and CDs are all $1.

The store is open seven days a week and relies heavily on donations. The library said the new shop has book lovers across town excited.

"If you want to own your own book or if you want to give gifts to your family members and others, you can buy them, and that's what the difference is from other books in the library," said library director Priya Rathnam. "We have children's books, teen books and adult books here, DVDs and music CDs."

All proceeds from the store will go towards funding events and programs at the library.
