SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Holy Cross football fans are descending on eastern South Dakota for Saturday's FCS Quarterfinal game. When the Crusaders face top-seeded South Dakota State in Brookings, they'll have a hearty group of alums and parents cheering them on from the stands.
Parents we spoke to Friday night couldn't contain the pride they had for the sons and what the team has achieved this season.
"They are a brotherhood and I couldn't be more proud of my son C.J. he's been playing football since he was five years old and here he is a senior in college," Dianne Hanson, mom of offensive lineman C.J. Hanson, said. "And I've got to say coach Chesney and his staff are unbelievable and the leadership they've instilled in all the boys really comes down to where we are today."
Throughout their time at Holy Cross, the team's parents have formed a bond of their own and they're enjoying every moment of this playoff run.
The Crusaders meet the Jackrabbits at noon ET on Saturday.
